Game 1 Recap
The first game of the finals was a both exciting and boring game. Last night I watched the game from Boston Pizza with a bunch of my buddies. And when I wasn't focus in on wolfing down pizza and wings I was focused in on the game. The game didn't turn out the way I predicted but I somehow knew that it wouldn't. Both teams played very conservative it was slow at times with maybe a few good hits here and there. Both teams were very defensive and the goalies both put on a show. Luongo made an amazing save early on. The very few scoring chances were easily picked off by the goalies. Vancouver was able to kill of the many and long penalty kills while their power plays were decent. A lot of dump and chase was made by Vancouver and most of the time their player was the first one on the puck which was good but he usually went in alone and was not able to create any offense from it. In my opinion neither team played all that well. It was almost as if the Neutral zone was an "Extreme Caution Zone". It wasn't until the last 18 seconds of the game that someone went through the blueline with speed. Raffi Torres tips in a pass with 18.5 to go in the game. He score the only goal of the game and the third of the playoffs.
